Description
A fun and festive craft project for kids to celebrate the 4th of July with vibrant sparkle bottles.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 clear bottle (glass or sturdy plastic, with cap)
- Clear liquid (choose one):
- – 1 part clear glue + 2–3 parts warm water (for thicker, slower movement)
- – OR 1 part light corn syrup + 3–4 parts warm water
- – OR just water (for a faster flow)
- Fine royal blue glitter
- Fine silver glitter
- Red, blue, and gold star confetti
- Chunky iridescent glitter (optional)
- Red and white striped ribbon (12–15 inches)
- Funnel, measuring cups/spoons, scissors
Instructions
- Prep the Bottle: Clean and dry your bottle.
- Mix the Liquid (if using glue/syrup): In a bowl, mix clear glue or corn syrup with warm water until pourable. Let bubbles settle.
- Create Glitter Layers: Add silver glitter, red stars, blue stars, and some gold stars into the bottle (fill ¼–⅓ of the glitter volume).
- Slowly pour in liquid until ⅓–½ full.
- Add royal blue glitter and gold stars for the top layer.
- Carefully fill with more liquid, leaving 1 inch at the top.
- Finish: Gently swirl the bottle—don’t shake yet. Add more glitter if needed.
- Seal the cap tightly (optional: glue it shut). Tie a ribbon around the neck for a festive touch.
- Enjoy: Let the glitter settle, then gently tilt and swirl for a dazzling display!
Notes
- Make sure to use a sturdy bottle to prevent spills.
- Adjust the amount of glitter for desired sparkle effects.
- Consider using different colors or types of confetti for variety.
