Description
A crispy and fiery snack that provides a flavor explosion with every bite. Perfect for parties or a spicy snack!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (12 oz.) box of crackers – Saltine or Ritz-style crackers work best
- ¾ cup olive oil – Adds richness and helps the seasonings stick
- 2 tablespoons Italian seasoning – For a savory, herby flavor
- 3 tablespoons chili flakes – To bring the signature fiery kick
- Optional substitutions: For a lighter option, swap olive oil with avocado oil. If you prefer a milder flavor, reduce the chili flakes or substitute with smoked paprika
Instructions
- Place your crackers in a large Ziploc bag. This helps coat them evenly without any mess.
- Pour the olive oil over the crackers. Close the bag and gently toss the crackers to ensure they’re well coated.
- Add the Italian seasoning and chili flakes to the bag. Seal the bag and shake it again, flipping it over multiple times so each cracker gets evenly seasoned.
- Leave the sealed bag at room temperature overnight, flipping it occasionally.
- The next day, your Alabama Firecrackers are ready! Serve them as is, or with a creamy dip to balance the heat.
Notes
- Marinating overnight is crucial for the flavors to infuse.
- Adjust the spice levels to your preference by modifying the amount of chili flakes.
