- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 cups diced apples
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and sugar.
- In a separate bowl, mix the milk and egg until combined, then add to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Fold in the diced apples.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, frying until golden brown on all sides, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving. Enjoy!
Notes
Use firm, tart apples. Fry in small batches and drain well.
