Description

Delicious cocktail smokies wrapped in crispy bacon and coated with a sweet brown sugar glaze, perfect for any gathering.


Ingredients

  • 24 cocktail smokies (approximately 14 oz / 400 g)
  • 12 slices of regular bacon (not thick-cut)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (100 g, light or dark)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  3. Cut each bacon slice in half crosswise to form 24 shorter strips.
  4. Wrap each cocktail smokie with a half-slice of bacon and secure using a toothpick.
  5. Place the bacon-wrapped smokies in a single layer on the baking sheet, seam side down.
  6. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over each bacon-wrapped smokie.
  7. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until the bacon is crisp and the sugar is melted and caramelized.
  8. Allow to cool for five minutes before serving.

Notes

You can prepare these a day in advance and bake them just before serving. They can also be cooked in an air fryer at 375°F for about 15-20 minutes.
