- 1 pound brisket, cooked and shredded
- 4 slices of sourdough or rye bread
- 4 slices of cheese (cheddar or Swiss)
- BBQ sauce to taste
- Butter for grilling
- Optional toppings: pickles, onions
Instructions
- Warm the brisket in a skillet over medium heat, combining with BBQ sauce until heated through.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread generously.
- On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer a portion of brisket, followed by two slices of cheese and any optional toppings.
- Top with another slice of bread, buttered side facing up. Repeat for remaining slices.
- Grill sandwiches in the skillet for 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and the cheese has melted.
- Slice in half and serve immediately, with pickles or onions for garnish.
Notes
For best results, use day-old bread for extra crispiness. Prepare brisket and BBQ sauce the day before for quicker assembly.
