Description

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of challah or brioche bread, cut into cubes
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries (or frozen)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk (or milk alternative)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Optional: Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the bread in a large mixing bowl by combining your cubed challah or brioche bread.
  3. Make the cream cheese mixture by whisking together the softened cream cheese, eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until smooth.
  4. Combine the cream cheese mixture with the bread cubes, gently folding in the fresh blueberries.
  5. Spread the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and cover with aluminum foil. Let it sit for about 15 minutes.
  6. Bake covered for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 20 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Cool slightly before serving. Dust with powdered sugar and serve with maple syrup if desired.
