- 1 loaf of challah or brioche bread, cut into cubes
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup fresh blueberries (or frozen)
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups milk (or milk alternative)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- Optional: Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the bread in a large mixing bowl by combining your cubed challah or brioche bread.
- Make the cream cheese mixture by whisking together the softened cream cheese, eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until smooth.
- Combine the cream cheese mixture with the bread cubes, gently folding in the fresh blueberries.
- Spread the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and cover with aluminum foil. Let it sit for about 15 minutes.
- Bake covered for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 20 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool slightly before serving. Dust with powdered sugar and serve with maple syrup if desired.
