Description
Deliciously warm and creamy brown butter cookies infused with chai spices, perfect for cozy moments.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp chai spice mix (cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves)
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 large eggs
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter until it turns golden brown and emits a nutty aroma (about 5-8 minutes). Be careful not to burn it.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar and brown sugar. Pour in the browned butter (allow it to cool slightly) and mix until creamy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time until fully incorporated.
- In another bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, chai spice mix, baking soda, and a pinch of salt. Gradually add this dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined; do not overmix.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized balls onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about two inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden but centers remain soft. Transfer cookies to wire racks to cool before enjoying.
Notes
- Allow the browned butter to cool slightly before mixing it with the sugars to avoid cooking the eggs.
- For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of salt in the dough.
- These cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
