Description

Thick, golden slices of roasted cauliflower topped with melted cheese and breadcrumbs for a comforting and indulgent dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 large head of cauliflower
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: garlic powder, paprika, and fresh herbs for seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Cut the cauliflower into thick slices to create ‘steaks.’
  3. Brush both sides of the cauliflower steaks with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and any optional spices.
  4. Place the steaks on a baking sheet and roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and tender.
  5. In the last 5 minutes of roasting, sprinkle cheese and breadcrumbs evenly over the cauliflower steaks.
  6. Return to the oven until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve hot as a side dish or main course.

Notes

For extra crunch, broil the steaks for 1 minute at the end. Let them rest for 1-2 minutes after baking for best texture.
