Description
A delightful layered dessert combining creamy cheesecake, crushed graham crackers, and sweet cherry pie filling.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (about 14 oz) graham crackers, crushed
- 2 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups whipped cream (homemade or store-bought)
- 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling (or homemade)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth and fluffy.
- Add the sour cream, sugar, and vanilla extract to the cream cheese, and mix until everything is well-combined and creamy.
- Gently fold in the whipped cream until no white streaks remain.
- Layer with crushed graham crackers at the bottom of a trifle dish or glass bowl.
- Add a layer of the cheesecake mixture, followed by a layer of cherry pie filling. Repeat these layers until all ingredients are used.
- Finish with whipped cream and a few cherries on top for garnishing.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
Notes
- For a lighter version, you can use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.
- Allowing the trifle to chill overnight enhances the flavor.
- Homemade cherry pie filling can add a personal touch.
