Description

A quick, one-pot meal featuring chicken sausage, orzo pasta, and broccoli, perfect for busy weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound chicken sausage, sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned, about 5–7 minutes.
  2. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the broccoli florets and chicken broth to the pot and bring to a simmer.
  4. Once simmering, add the orzo pasta and cook according to package instructions, usually about 8–10 minutes, until the orzo is al dente and the broccoli is tender.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

Browning the sausage adds flavor; avoid overcooking the orzo to prevent mushiness.
