Description

Delicious chicken shawarma marinated in aromatic spices, served with creamy garlic sauce and fresh vegetables, all wrapped in pita bread.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Pita bread or wraps
  • Lettuce, tomatoes, and onions for serving
  • 1/2 cup garlic sauce

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine olive oil, smoked paprika, cumin, turmeric, coriander, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk until blended.
  2. Add chicken thighs to the marinade and coat well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (preferably overnight).
  3. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the marinated chicken for 5-7 minutes on each side until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  5. Remove chicken from heat and let it rest for a few minutes.
  6. Slice the chicken into bite-sized pieces and serve wrapped in pita with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and a drizzle of garlic sauce.

Notes

For the best flavor, marinate overnight. Serve with sides like tabbouleh, hummus, or roasted vegetables.
