Description
Delicious chicken shawarma marinated in aromatic spices, served with creamy garlic sauce and fresh vegetables, all wrapped in pita bread.

- 2 lbs chicken thighs
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Pita bread or wraps
- Lettuce, tomatoes, and onions for serving
- 1/2 cup garlic sauce
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine olive oil, smoked paprika, cumin, turmeric, coriander, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk until blended.
- Add chicken thighs to the marinade and coat well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (preferably overnight).
- Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook the marinated chicken for 5-7 minutes on each side until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Remove chicken from heat and let it rest for a few minutes.
- Slice the chicken into bite-sized pieces and serve wrapped in pita with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and a drizzle of garlic sauce.
Notes
For the best flavor, marinate overnight. Serve with sides like tabbouleh, hummus, or roasted vegetables.
