Description

A rich, decadent Chocolate Turtle Cake layered with sweet caramel and topped with whipped cream and pecans.


Ingredients

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) Devil’s Food chocolate cake mix
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 jar (12 oz) caramel sundae topping
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
  • ½ cup chopped pecans
  • ½ cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ⅓ cup salted caramel sauce (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Bake the Cake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, prepare the cake mix according to package instructions. Pour the batter into a greased 9×13-inch baking pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool for 10 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.
  2. Soak with Caramel: Once cool, poke holes in the top of the cake with a fork. In a bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk and caramel topping. Pour this mixture over the cake, allowing it to soak into the holes.
  3. Chill and Top: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Spread the whipped topping over the cake, then sprinkle with chopped pecans and chocolate chips.
  4. Serve: Drizzle with salted caramel sauce before serving. Cut into squares and enjoy!
