Description
A luxurious dish of Cowboy Butter Chicken Linguine, where tender pieces of chicken are coated in a rich buttery sauce, balanced by zesty lemon and a hint of heat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz linguine pasta
- 1 lb chicken breast, diced
- 4 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes (or to taste)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the linguine: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and add the linguine. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- Melt the butter: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat until bubbly and fragrant.
- Add the chicken: Toss the diced chicken into the skillet, season generously with salt and pepper, and sauté until browned and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes.
- Sauté the garlic: Stir in the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for an additional minute until the garlic becomes aromatic and tender.
- Incorporate the mustard and lemon: Add the Dijon mustard and freshly squeezed lemon juice to the skillet, stirring to combine all ingredients beautifully.
- Combine with linguine: Pour the cooked linguine into the skillet, tossing gently to ensure every strand is glossed with that wonderful sauce.
- Serve immediately: Plate the Cowboy Butter Chicken Linguine, and top with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese and a burst of fresh parsley, if desired.
Notes
For a deeper flavor, let the chicken brown slightly before adding the garlic. You can cook the chicken and sauce a day in advance for convenience.
