Description

A festive and indulgent appetizer featuring layers of Camembert cheese, cranberry sauce, and pistachios, shaped like a Christmas tree.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
  • 150 g Camembert cheese, sliced
  • 4 tbsp cranberry sauce
  • 3 tbsp chopped pistachios
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Fresh rosemary or thyme (optional, for garnish)
  • Honey (optional, for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out two puff pastry sheets on a floured surface. Place one sheet on the lined baking tray.
  3. Evenly distribute sliced Camembert over the bottom sheet, leaving a small border.
  4. Spread cranberry sauce gently over the cheese layer.
  5. Sprinkle chopped pistachios over the cranberry layer.
  6. Place second puff pastry sheet on top and press down lightly to seal.
  7. Cut the layered pastry into a large triangle (tree shape). Slice horizontal branches on both sides, leaving the center intact. Twist each branch 1–2 times.
  8. Brush the tree with beaten egg for a golden finish. Add decorative stars or shapes from scraps if desired.
  9. Bake for 18–22 minutes until golden and puffed. Remove and let cool slightly.
  10. Garnish with herbs, drizzle with honey (optional), and serve warm as a pull-apart appetizer.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, ensure the puff pastry is made without animal products.
