Description

Crispy Bacon Mozzarella Poppers are irresistibly juicy bites consisting of mozzarella balls wrapped in thick-cut bacon, coated in panko breadcrumbs, and drizzled with a delicious maple garlic glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 225 grams thick-cut bacon
  • 225 grams fresh mozzarella balls
  • 100 grams panko breadcrumbs
  • 60 millilitres pure maple syrup
  • 28 grams unsalted butter
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Set oven to 200°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Wrap each mozzarella ball tightly with a slice of thick-cut bacon, securing with a toothpick if necessary.
  3. Roll each bacon-wrapped mozzarella ball in panko breadcrumbs until evenly coated on all sides.
  4. Arrange coated poppers on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the bacon is golden and crispy.
  5. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Stir in maple syrup and garlic powder, then simmer for approximately two minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Drizzle the warm maple glaze over the freshly baked poppers and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add spices to the panko breadcrumbs.
  • Make sure the bacon is wrapped tightly around the mozzarella to prevent leakage during cooking.
