- 3–4 lbs beef chuck roast
- 4 cups beef broth
- 4 carrots, chopped
- 4 potatoes, chopped
- 1 onion, quartered
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 teaspoon rosemary
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Place the beef roast in the slow cooker.
- Add the broth, carrots, potatoes, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
- Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the meat is tender.
- For optional gravy, remove the roast and vegetables, mix the cooking liquid in a saucepan, and simmer until thickened. Serve together hot.

Brown the roast for added flavor before slow cooking and ensure vegetables are evenly cut for even cooking.
