  • 8 oz (about 225 g) salted caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup heavy cream (for whipped topping)
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • Optional garnish: chocolate-covered caramels or chopped toffee bits

Instructions

  1. Bake the brownies per your recipe or the box instructions (about 25 minutes). Let the brownies cool completely, then cut into bite-sized cubes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, sugar and vanilla until smooth (about 2–3 minutes). In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup heavy cream to stiff peaks, then fold into the cream cheese mixture until fluffy.
  3. Whip the remaining 1 cup heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form — this will top your trifle.
  4. In a large clear trifle dish or glass bowl, layer half of the brownie cubes on the bottom. Drizzle half of the salted caramel over the brownies. Spoon half of the cheesecake filling on top and spread evenly.
  5. Repeat: remaining brownie cubes → remaining caramel → remaining cheesecake filling.
  6. Finish by spreading the whipped topping on the very top and garnish with chocolate-covered caramels or toffee bits.
  7. Cover and refrigerate the assembled trifle for at least 4 hours (or overnight) so the layers meld and set beautifully.
