Description
Create your own beautiful aroma stones to add delightful scents to your home using simple ingredients.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup baking soda
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/3–1/2 cup water (add gradually)
- 10–20 drops essential oil (lavender, lemon, eucalyptus, or your favorite blend)
- Optional: natural food coloring or mica powder
- Silicone molds or small cookie cutters
- Airtight container or mesh sachets for storage
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the baking soda and cornstarch until well combined.
- If desired, stir in a small amount of food coloring or mica powder to achieve your preferred color.
- Gradually add water while stirring continuously until the mixture forms a thick, dough-like paste that is firm but pliable.
- Add your chosen essential oils and knead the mixture gently to evenly distribute the fragrance throughout the dough.
- Press the dough into silicone molds or use your hands or cookie cutters to create desired shapes.
- Smooth the tops and clean any edges as needed for a finished look.
- Allow the stones to air dry at room temperature for 24–48 hours until they are fully hardened.
- Once dry, store your aroma stones in an airtight jar or mesh bag to preserve their scent.
- To use, place the stones in drawers, closets, cars, bathrooms, or any small space where you want a natural scent boost.
Notes
- Experiment with seasonal scents like cinnamon and orange for fall or peppermint and eucalyptus for winter for a different aroma experience.
- Use heart or flower molds to create cute gift sets that make perfect presents for friends and family.
