Description
Create colorful and creative glue suncatchers that brighten your home with fun art while being kid-friendly.
Ingredients
- Clear-drying school glue
- Plastic lids (from yogurt, sour cream, or margarine containers)
- Food coloring or liquid watercolor paints
- Toothpicks or skewers
- Glitter (optional)
- Black puff paint or permanent marker (for outlines)
- String or ribbon (for hanging)
- Hole punch (optional)
Instructions
- Outline your design – Use puff paint or permanent marker to draw a spiral, shape, or outline inside the plastic lid. Let it dry completely (a few hours or overnight).
- Add glue – Pour clear glue inside the lid, staying within the outline. Spread evenly but not too thin.
- Color it in – Add small drops of food coloring or liquid watercolors to the glue. Use a toothpick to swirl and blend colors into fun patterns.
- Add sparkle – Sprinkle a little glitter if you’d like some extra shimmer!
- Let it dry – Set the lids aside on a flat surface for at least 24–48 hours until the glue is completely clear and dry.
- Pop them out – Gently peel your suncatcher out of the lid. If you want to hang it, punch a small hole at the top.
- Hang & enjoy! – Use string or ribbon to hang your suncatcher in a sunny window and watch the colors glow!
Notes
- Optional tip: Add a drop of essential oil to the glue while wet for a pleasant scent.
