Description

Create festive and colorful DIY Holiday Slime for fun and creative holiday crafts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • One bottle of Elmer’s glue (6 oz)
  • Brown food coloring
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 15 tablespoons of contact lens solution (must contain boric acid)
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • Googly eyes
  • Orange felt
  • Red felt
  • Red pom pom
  • Brown pipe cleaner
  • Small black buttons
  • Hot glue

Instructions

  1. Begin by pouring the Elmer’s glue into a mixing bowl. If you prefer green slime, you can swap in clear glue and add green food coloring instead.
  2. Mix in 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda until well combined.
  3. Stir in 1/4 cup of water until the mixture is fully blended.
  4. Slowly add in the 15 tablespoons of contact lens solution while mixing continuously. Watch as the slime starts to pull away from the sides of the bowl.
  5. Knead the slime with your hands for about 5 minutes to make it less sticky and more manageable.
  6. If the slime is still clinging to your hands, you can use a little baby oil or lotion to help, or add a touch more contact lens solution as needed.
  7. For a delightful Rudolph jar, glue on the googly eyes, attach a red pom pom for the nose, and twist the brown pipe cleaner into cute antlers. Don’t forget to dye your slime brown!
  8. If you are creating a snowman jar, cut a piece of orange felt for the nose and use small black buttons to craft an adorable mouth.
  9. To make a whimsical Grinch jar, attach the googly eyes, use a black Sharpie to draw a cheeky face, and hot glue some festive red felt around the jar lid.

Notes

  • To make your slime extra festive, consider adding a sprinkle of fine glitter for a bit of sparkle.
  • Experiment with different colors by swapping in various food colorings to match your holiday theme!
