Description

Craft fun with preschoolers to create easy love bugs using toilet rolls.


Ingredients

  • Toilet rolls or paper towel rolls cut to size
  • Paint
  • Googly eyes
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Beads
  • Construction paper or cardstock
  • Tacky craft glue
  • Marker pens
  • Scissors
  • Skewer
  • Optional: Pom poms, glitter or glitter glue pens, stickers, washi tape

Instructions

  1. Grab your empty toilet paper rolls and paint them. Allow them to dry.
  2. Cut the rolls to a shorter length for smaller bugs if desired.
  3. Adult should poke six holes in one roll with a kitchen skewer (three down each side) for the pipe cleaner legs.

Notes

  • Scrunched up tissue paper can be used as an eco-friendly alternative to pom poms.
  • Glitter or glitter glue pens can add sparkle to the bugs.
  • Stickers and washi tape can be used for extra decoration.
