Description
A dazzling science craft that captures the magic of a glowing snow blizzard charged with electric sparks — swirling, sparkling, and full of wintery glow inside a jar!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 clear glass jar with lid (or clear plastic bottle)
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon glow-in-the-dark paint or glowing powder (non-toxic)
- A few drops of blue or white food coloring (for icy storm colors)
- 1 teaspoon silver or holographic glitter (for snow sparks)
- A pinch of Epsom salt (to mimic icy crystals)
- 1 Alka-Seltzer tablet (broken into pieces)
Instructions
- Prepare the Blizzard Water: Mix the water with glow-in-the-dark paint or powder and stir in food coloring.
- Add the Ice Effect: Sprinkle in Epsom salt to give the blizzard a snowy crystal look.
- Fill the Jar: Pour the mixture into the jar until halfway full.
- Add Sparkle: Mix in glitter to make your blizzard shimmer with lightning sparks.
- Seal the Jar: Close the lid tightly to keep everything secure.
- Electrify the Blizzard: Drop in a piece of Alka-Seltzer tablet and watch bubbles rise and swirl like an electrified snowstorm.
- Glow Effect: Charge the jar under bright light, then turn off the lights to see your glowing blizzard storm!
Notes
- Snowstorm Boost: Add more salt and glitter for a heavier, sparkling snow effect.
- Blizzard Colors: Use both blue and white coloring for a frosty, stormy look.
- Extra Glow: Shine a flashlight underneath for lightning-like flashes in the snowstorm.
