Description

A fun and colorful science experiment that creates a foamy eruption using simple kitchen ingredients.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon of baking soda
  • 1/4 cup of white vinegar
  • Food coloring (various colors)
  • Water
  • Dish soap
  • Clear cups
  • Bowls and spoons

Instructions

  1. Put about 1 tablespoon of baking soda in the bottom of a few clear cups.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix some water with a few drops of different food colors. Make a color for each cup.
  3. Pour about 1/4 cup of the colored water into each cup and mix it into a paste.
  4. Add one little drop of dish soap to each cup. This makes the eruption extra foamy!
  5. Slowly pour in a few tablespoons of white vinegar. Watch your rainbow mountains erupt!
  6. When the foam settles down, you can add more baking soda and vinegar for another eruption. Have a blast!
