A fun and colorful science experiment that creates a foamy eruption using simple kitchen ingredients.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tablespoon of baking soda
- 1/4 cup of white vinegar
- Food coloring (various colors)
- Water
- Dish soap
- Clear cups
- Bowls and spoons
Instructions
- Put about 1 tablespoon of baking soda in the bottom of a few clear cups.
- In a separate bowl, mix some water with a few drops of different food colors. Make a color for each cup.
- Pour about 1/4 cup of the colored water into each cup and mix it into a paste.
- Add one little drop of dish soap to each cup. This makes the eruption extra foamy!
- Slowly pour in a few tablespoons of white vinegar. Watch your rainbow mountains erupt!
- When the foam settles down, you can add more baking soda and vinegar for another eruption. Have a blast!

- Try using different colors and combinations for varied effects.
