- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)
- 4 slices cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a cheese of your choice)
Instructions
- Prepare the garlic butter: In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, garlic powder, and dried parsley. Mix until smooth and evenly colored.
- Butter the bread: Spread the garlic butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
- Heat the skillet: Place a heavy skillet or cast-iron pan over medium heat and let it warm for 1–2 minutes.
- Assemble in the pan: Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet. Layer two slices of cheese on each piece of bread.
- Top and grill: Top with the remaining two slices of bread, buttered side up. Cook for about 3–4 minutes until golden brown.
- Flip and finish: Carefully flip each sandwich and grill for an additional 3–4 minutes until the second side is golden and cheese is melted.
- Rest and serve: Remove from the skillet and let rest for a minute. Slice in half and serve hot.
Notes
For extra crispiness, ensure the skillet is adequately heated before adding the sandwiches. Avoid overstuffing to allow for even melting.
