Description

Succulent chicken coated in a savory sweet glaze made with garlic and brown sugar, perfect for a busy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless (skinless chicken breasts or thighs)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic (finely minced)
  • ⅓ cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (for finishing)
  • Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish – optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels and season both sides evenly with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and onion powder.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 to 45 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the brown sugar, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar into the skillet to create the sauce.
  4. Carefully place the seasoned chicken into the skillet and cook for about 5 to 6 minutes on each side, spooning the sauce over the chicken as it cooks.
  5. Add a tablespoon of unsalted butter to the pan and spoon the sauce over the chicken for an extra minute until glossy.
  6. Remove the skillet from heat, garnish with chopped parsley if desired, and serve immediately with extra sauce on top.

Notes

To enhance flavor, marinate chicken in soy sauce, garlic, and apple cider vinegar before cooking. Adjust the sweetness and spice according to preference.
