Description

A delightful and creative twist on the classic Rice Krispies treats, these Glow in the Dark Rice Krispies Treats will amaze you with their luminous appearance when exposed to blacklight.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup tonic water (must contain quinine for the glow effect)
  • Neon food coloring (optional, but highly recommended for maximum visual impact)

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with butter or non-stick spray or prepare silicone molds.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat, then add the mini marshmallows, stirring until smooth.
  3. Remove from heat, pour in the tonic water, and stir vigorously until combined.
  4. Optionally, divide the mixture and add neon food coloring for extra excitement.
  5. Add Rice Krispies cereal and mix gently until evenly coated.
  6. Spoon the mixture into the pan or molds and press firmly with greased parchment paper or a buttered spatula.
  7. Allow to cool for 1–2 hours, then cut into squares or pop from molds. Turn off the lights, switch on a blacklight, and enjoy the glow!

Notes

  • Ensure the tonic water used contains quinine for the glowing effect.
  • Using different colors can enhance the visual appeal under blacklight.
  • Be patient while letting them cool to ensure proper setting.
