Description
Create a mesmerizing light show with ordinary bubbles using this glowing bubbles experiment.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup bubble solution (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 highlighter (yellow or green for the brightest glow)
- ¼ cup warm water
- 1 UV blacklight (or blue LED torch)
- Optional: Extra dish soap for stronger bubbles
Instructions
- Prep the glow juice – Remove the highlighter’s ink cartridge, soak it in warm water for 10-15 minutes. Squeeze and stir to create a glowing “potion”!
- Mix your bubble solution – Combine store-bought solution or make your own with water, soap, and corn syrup. Stir gently, avoiding suds!
- Add the glow – Pour your highlighter water into the bubble mix. For extra-strength bubbles, add a tiny squirt of dish soap.
- Light it up – Head to a dark space and turn on your UV blacklight. Watch the liquid glow before you even blow bubbles!
- Blow & marvel – Use a wand (or a straw) to create radiant floating orbs. Chase them, pop them, or see how long they last!
Notes
- Highlighters matter – Yellow & green glow brightest; avoid pink/red (they’re dim).
- Add 2-3 drops of food coloring for colorful glowing bubbles.
- Try this on a porch or in a backyard for a full glowing-bubble dance party!
