- 1 cup Unsalted Butter, softened
- 4 cups Powdered Sugar, sifted
- 2 tablespoons Heavy Cream or Half-and-Half
- 1 teaspoon Peppermint Extract
- 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- Food Coloring (Optional)

- Add Sugar Gradually: Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, mixing on low speed initially, then increase the speed once blended.
- Mix in Cream and Flavoring: Pour in the heavy cream and peppermint extract and mix until just combined.
- Finish the Dough: Add remaining powdered sugar until you achieve a soft but pliable dough.
- Color It (If Desired): Dust a surface with powdered sugar and knead in food coloring if you wish.
- Shape the Mints: Roll small pieces of dough into thin ropes, then cut into bite-sized pieces.
- Drying Time: Arrange the shaped mints on a parchment-lined baking sheet, allowing to air dry for 12-24 hours.
Notes
Store the mints in an airtight container for up to three weeks. They can also be refrigerated or frozen for longer storage.
