Description

A delicious fusion of Hawaiian pizza flavors with the comfort of a gooey grilled cheese sandwich, featuring savory Canadian bacon, sweet pineapple, and melted cheese in a crispy bread shell.


Ingredients

  • 4 slices sourdough or white bread
  • Butter (for spreading on bread)
  • 1/4 cup pizza sauce (more or less, to taste)
  • 4 slices Canadian bacon
  • 4 pineapple rings (canned or fresh, patted dry)
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese (or your favorite melting cheese)

Instructions

  1. Begin by buttering one side of each slice of bread generously.
  2. Pat dry the pineapple rings to prevent excess moisture.
  3. Preheat your griddle or skillet over medium heat.
  4. Place one slice of bread, butter side down, onto the hot griddle.
  5. Spread 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce on the unbuttered side.
  6. Layer two slices of Canadian bacon, two pineapple rings, and two slices of cheese atop the sauce.
  7. Top with another slice of bread, butter side up.
  8. Cook for 3–4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.
  9. Flip carefully using your spatula; cook for an additional 3–4 minutes until the cheese melts.
  10. Remove from the pan, allow to cool slightly, cut and serve hot!

Notes

Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days. Reheat in a skillet over low heat.
