- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup grated apples
- 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
- Mix together the rolled oats, grated apples, honey (or maple syrup), applesauce, vegetable oil, and vanilla in a large bowl.
- Combine the baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in another bowl, then add these dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until combined. If using, fold in the chopped nuts.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool before slicing and enjoy your healthy treat!
Notes
Use a mix of sweet and tart apples for added flavor. Store in an airtight container.
