A quick and easy recipe for creating homemade gel air fresheners that will instantly refresh your space with delightful scents.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup water (½ cup cold, ½ cup hot)
  • 1 packet (0.25 oz) unflavored gelatin
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 2030 drops essential oil (lavender, eucalyptus, lemon, peppermint, or blend)
  • food coloring (optional)
  • small glass jars or decorative containers
  • optional decorations (dried flowers, glitter, herbs, beads)

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle the gelatin over ½ cup cold water in a bowl. Let it sit 5–10 minutes until swollen.
  2. Bring the remaining ½ cup of water just below boiling.
  3. Pour the hot water over the bloomed gelatin and stir until dissolved.
  4. Stir in salt and 20–30 drops of essential oil.
  5. Add food coloring and optional decorations like flowers, herbs, or glitter.
  6. Pour mixture into jars and let cool until firm.
  7. Place around your home and enjoy the fresh scent.
