Description
This indulgent Bavarian Cream combines silky custard with whipped cream for a dessert that feels both light and rich. Perfect for any special occasion, serve it chilled with berries or in dessert shells.
Ingredients

- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 5 large egg yolks
- 1 tablespoon gelatin
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Warm the milk, sugar, and salt in a saucepan until warm but not boiling.
- Temper the egg yolks by slowly adding warm milk mixture to them while whisking constantly.
- Pour the tempered yolk mixture back into the saucepan and cook on low heat until thickened.
- Bloom gelatin in cold water then dissolve it and stir into the warm custard along with vanilla.
- Cool the custard to room temperature while stirring occasionally.
- Whip the heavy cream to soft peaks and gently fold it into the custard.
- Refrigerate until set, about 4 hours or overnight.
Notes
Serve chilled and can be paired with fresh berries, caramelized fruits, or sweet cookies.
