Description

Deliciously chewy cookies featuring a balance of sweet and salty flavors, packed with gooey salted caramel.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup salted caramel sauce
  • Flaky sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet: Take a baking sheet and line it with parchment paper.
  3. Cream the butter and sugars: In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to combine 1 cup of unsalted butter, 1 cup of brown sugar, and 1/2 cup of granulated sugar. Beat until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla: Incorporate 2 large eggs, one at a time, mixing well between each. Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  5. Whisk dry ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together 2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
  6. Combine the mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  7. Fold in the caramel sauce: Gently mix in 1 cup of salted caramel sauce.
  8. Shape the cookies: Use a cookie scoop to drop rounded dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  9. Sprinkle with sea salt: Add a pinch of flaky sea salt on top of each dough ball.
  10. Bake to perfection: Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden at the edges and underbaked in the center.
  11. Cool the cookies: Let them cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Can be made ahead of time; dough refrigerates for up to 48 hours.
