Ingredients

- 3½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1½ teaspoons salt
- 1 cup warm water (110°F)
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 tablespoons butter (softened)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1½ tablespoons dried Italian herb blend
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)
Instructions
- Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Allow to rest for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Pour in the olive oil, 3 cups of flour, and salt. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 6-8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Transfer the dough into an oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Mix softened butter, garlic, and herbs to create herb butter.
- Roll the dough into a 12×18 inch rectangle and spread herb butter, then sprinkle cheeses and parsley.
- Roll the dough tightly, pinch seams, and place in a greased loaf pan. Let rise for 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool slightly, slice, and serve.
Notes
Store bread wrapped in plastic for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat for best texture.
