Instructions
- Prepare dry ingredients by whisking together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg until combined.
- Combine wet ingredients in a separate bowl and whisk until smooth.
- Bring the batter together by gradually pouring the wet mixture into dry ingredients and stirring gently.
- Heat the oil in a heavy pot to 375°F (190°C) using a thermometer.
- Fry the donuts in batches for about 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Drain the fried donuts on paper towels and cool slightly.
