Description
Create a beautiful macrame plant hanger to enhance your home decor. This beginner-friendly DIY project uses affordable materials and allows for customization to suit your style.
Ingredients
- Macrame cord – 3–5 mm thick, about 100 feet
- Wooden ring – 2–3 inches in diameter
- Scissors
- Measuring tape
- (Optional) Beads for decoration
Instructions
- Cut 8 pieces of cord, each 12 feet long. Fold them in half and thread them through the wooden ring. Pull tight to secure.
- Tie a large knot under the ring to hold all cords in place. This will be the top of your hanger.
- Separate cords into 4 groups of 4 strands each. In each group, tie square knots about 4–5 inches below the top knot.
- Take 2 strands from one group and 2 strands from the group next to it. Tie square knots about 4 inches down from the first section.
- Repeat knotting until you have 3–4 sections, depending on the size of your plant pot. Tie all cords together in one large knot at the bottom.
- Hang the macrame from a hook, insert your plant, and fluff out the cords.
Notes
- Feel free to customize the colors and beads to match your home decor.
- Ensure the knots are tight to avoid any plants falling out.
- This project is great for all skill levels.
