Create stunning galaxy ornaments using baking soda and acrylic paints for a magical decoration.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1–2 teaspoons of baking soda
- Acrylic paint: Deep black, Cobalt blue, Electric purple, Hot pink, Metallic gold
- Fine glitter (holographic and silver)
- Clear ornaments
- Small funnel (or rolled-up paper)
- Cotton swabs or mini paintbrushes
- Spoon for scooping baking soda
- Mod Podge or clear craft glue (optional)
Instructions
- Wipe down the clear ornaments to ensure they are clean.
- Drop in about 1-2 teaspoons of baking soda using a funnel.
- Add 3-4 drops of acrylic paint in dark colors, followed by purples and pinks, finishing with a touch of metallic gold.
- Cover the opening and gently shake or swirl the ornament to blend the paint.
- Sprinkle fine glitter into the ornament and shake it again.
- Remove the caps and let the ornaments dry open-side up for several hours or overnight.
Notes
- Use fine glitter to prevent clumping.
- Avoid overfilling with paint to prevent the gray sludge effect.
- Tap the sides of the ornament for new paint patterns.
- Allow enough drying time to prevent moisture from collecting inside.
