Pancake Sausage Casserole Bake is a delightful dish that combines the fluffy goodness of pancakes with savory sausage, creating a delicious breakfast or brunch option.


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1¼ cups milk
  • 2 cups pancake mix
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage (chicken, pork, or turkey)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • More butter or cooking spray for baking dish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F). Grease a 23×33 cm baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  2. Cook the breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned, then drain the fat and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together pancake mix, milk, egg, melted butter, vanilla extract, and, if desired, maple syrup and ground cinnamon. Stir until just combined.
  4. Pour half of the pancake batter into the greased baking dish.
  5. Evenly sprinkle the cooked sausage over the batter.
  6. Pour the remaining pancake batter over the sausage layer.
  7. If using, sprinkle cheddar cheese on top of the batter.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 to 30 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Once baked, let the casserole sit for five minutes before slicing and serving.
