Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • For the swirl:
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • For decorating:
  • 1/2 cup melted chocolate (for antlers)
  • Candy eyes
  • Chocolate melts or Rolos (for noses)

Instructions

  1. Line a tray with parchment and pipe melted chocolate into antlers, then let them set or chill. (⏱️ 20 minutes)
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and peanut butter until creamy. (⏱️ 3 minutes)
  3. Add egg and vanilla and mix again until smooth. (⏱️ 1 minute)
  4. Whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt, then blend into the wet mixture. Roll into 1½-inch balls. (⏱️ 5 minutes)
  5. Bake on a parchment-lined sheet until set but soft in the center. (⏱️ 8–10 minutes)
  6. Cool cookies completely so they stay thick and tender. (⏱️ 15 minutes)
  7. Beat peanut butter, butter, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla into a thick swirl frosting and pipe onto each cookie. (⏱️ 8 minutes)
  8. Press a chocolate candy melt at the bottom of the swirl to form the nose. (⏱️ 1 minute)
  9. Add candy eyes while the frosting is still soft. (⏱️ 1 minute)
  10. Gently insert chocolate antlers into the frosting to finish the reindeer. (⏱️ 2 minutes)
