Description

Irresistible bite-sized sausages coated in a rich brown sugar glaze combined with pineapple for a sweet and savory treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 packages (14 oz each) Lil’ Smokies sausages
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or canned)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, pineapple juice, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using) until smooth and combined.
  2. Add the Lil’ Smokies to the slow cooker and pour the glaze generously over the sausages, ensuring every sausage is coated.
  3. Stir in the pineapple chunks, letting them nestle among the sausages and glaze.
  4. Cover and cook on Low for approximately 240 minutes (4 hours) or on High for 120 minutes (2 hours), stirring occasionally.
  5. Serve warm, skewering with toothpicks for easy snacking.

Notes

Make-ahead by preparing the glaze and sausages a day before. Can also be baked in the oven for a quicker option.
