Description

Delight in these soft, fluffy Pink Velvet Cinnamon Rolls, featuring a rich cocoa and cinnamon filling and topped with a creamy frosting.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cake flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 2 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk for frosting
  • Pink food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix the dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cake flour, sugar, cocoa powder, instant yeast, and salt. Whisk together.
  2. Combine the wet ingredients: In another bowl, whisk melted butter, warm milk, egg, and vanilla extract. Add pink food coloring if desired and mix.
  3. Make the dough: Gradually add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir until a soft dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Let the dough rise: Place in a greased bowl covered with a towel for about 60 minutes until doubled in size.
  5. Prepare the filling: Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl, set aside.
  6. Roll out the dough: Punch down the risen dough and roll into a rectangle about 1/4-inch thick.
  7. Spread cream cheese evenly over the dough and sprinkle cinnamon-brown sugar mixture on top.
  8. Roll the dough tightly into a log; slice into 12 pieces.
  9. Arrange in a greased baking dish and pour heavy cream over the top.
  10. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Make the frosting: Mix powdered sugar with milk until pourable consistency.
  12. Frost the warm rolls immediately and serve.

Notes

Consider making the dough a day ahead and refrigerating it overnight. These rolls can also be cooked in an air fryer for a quicker option.
