Description

A comforting and hearty dish made with potatoes and ground meat, perfect for family dinners or weeknight meals.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g ground meat (beef, lamb, or chicken)
  • 2 large potatoes, diced
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 23 green chilies, slit
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, minced
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  3. Add chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
  4. Stir in minced ginger and garlic, cooking for about a minute.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes and slit green chilies, cooking until tomatoes soften.
  6. Add ground meat and cook until browned and fully cooked.
  7. Stir in diced potatoes, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt.
  8. Add enough water to cover the mixture and bring to a boil.
  9. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let it simmer until potatoes are tender.
  10. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan.

Feel free to customize with different meats or add vegetables for extra nutrition.
