Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200 F / 95 C (if making the day before, skip preheating).
- In a large bowl, mix 3 1/2 cups flour, 2 1/4 tsp yeast, and 1 tsp salt.
- Warm the milk, sugar, and butter in the microwave for 1 minute, then combine.
- Pour the warm milk mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until a sticky dough forms.
- Add 1 large egg and continue mixing until the dough is elastic.
- Add additional flour 1 Tbsp at a time until dough leaves the sides of the bowl.
- Poke the dough to check readiness – it should be tacky but not sticky.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the dough rest for 10-20 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix the filling: 4 Tbsp butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 Tbsp cinnamon, and 1/2 tsp salt until combined.
- Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.
- Roll the dough out to a rectangle (18×12 inches, 1/2 cm thick).
