Description

Delicious and fun Red Velvet Cake Pops made from cake crumbs and cream cheese frosting, perfect for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box red velvet cake mix (or 2 cups baked red velvet cake, crumbled)
  • 1 cup cream cheese frosting (store-bought or homemade)
  • 12 oz white candy melts or white chocolate, for coating
  • 12 tsp vegetable oil (to thin coating if needed)
  • Lollipop sticks or cake pop sticks
  • Sprinkles or cocoa powder (optional, for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Bake the cake according to package directions or use leftover cooled red velvet cake. Let it cool completely.
  2. Crumble the cake into fine crumbs in a large bowl.
  3. Add about 3/4 cup cream cheese frosting to the crumbs and mix until the mixture holds together.
  4. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions and roll into smooth balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment.
  5. Chill the balls in the fridge for 30 minutes or in the freezer for 10–15 minutes until firm.
  6. Melt the white candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second bursts, stirring until smooth. Stir in vegetable oil if needed.
  7. Dip the tip of a lollipop stick into the melted coating and push halfway into a chilled cake ball.
  8. Hold the stick and dip the cake pop into the coating, tapping to remove excess and twirling for a smooth finish.
  9. Place the dipped pop upright in a foam block or on parchment. Add sprinkles before coating sets.
  10. Let the pops set at room temperature or in the fridge until coating is firm.

Notes

Serve on a tray or tied in clear bags for gifts. Best served at room temperature.
