- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup chocolate chunks
- ½ cup salted caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
- Cream the softened butter with both sugars until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract and sour cream, mixing until well combined.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture gently.
- Stir in the chocolate chunks and half of the salted caramel sauce.
- Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin tins, filling each cup about ¾ full.
- Drizzle the remaining salted caramel sauce over the tops of each muffin.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For added flavor, you can substitute the chocolate chunks with butterscotch chips or add nuts.
