Description

Deliciously moist muffins infused with rich chocolate chunks and a touch of salted caramel for a perfect balance of sweet and salty.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup chocolate chunks
  • ½ cup salted caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. Cream the softened butter with both sugars until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract and sour cream, mixing until well combined.
  5. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture gently.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chunks and half of the salted caramel sauce.
  7. Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin tins, filling each cup about ¾ full.
  8. Drizzle the remaining salted caramel sauce over the tops of each muffin.
  9. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Allow to cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For added flavor, you can substitute the chocolate chunks with butterscotch chips or add nuts.
