Description

A flavorful and fulfilling dish combining spicy ground beef, colorful vegetables, and steamy rice for a quick, hearty meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, sliced into strips
  • 1/2 zucchini, sliced
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (for veggies)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce (for veggies)
  • 1 cup steamed white rice

Instructions

  1. Prepare all vegetables by washing and chopping them as per the ingredient list. Mince the garlic for the beef and veggies.
  2. In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet, cooking until browned and broken into small pieces, approximately 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, chili flakes, and brown sugar. Let simmer for 3-4 minutes to meld flavors before removing from heat.
  5. In a separate pan, heat olive oil and add minced garlic for the veggies. Sauté for about 30 seconds.
  6. Add mushrooms and cook for about 2 minutes until softened.
  7. Add broccoli, zucchini, and red bell pepper; stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  8. Drizzle soy sauce over veggies, toss well, and remove from heat.
  9. To serve, place steamed rice in bowls and arrange the spicy ground beef and colorful veggies on top or beside. Spoon over any extra sauce if desired.

Notes

Use leaner beef for a lighter dish and feel free to add any leftover vegetables you may have.
