Spicy Mexican Donkey Balls are crispy and creamy flavor bombs that make for a perfect appetizer or party snack.

- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup diced jalapeños (fresh or pickled)
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 2 cups breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, jalapeños, cilantro, garlic powder, and onion powder until well blended.
- Using your hands, form the mixture into balls about 1 inch in diameter.
- Set up a breading station with three bowls: one for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for breadcrumbs mixed with chili powder and paprika.
- Dredge each cheese ball in flour, dip in the egg, and coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the cheese balls in batches for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown, turning occasionally for even cooking.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- For extra heat, use more jalapeños or add hot sauce to the cheese mixture.
- These can be made ahead of time and frozen before frying.
- Serve with sour cream, guacamole, or salsa for dipping.
