Description
Looking for a party appetizer that people fight over? Meet your new obsession: Sticky Mississippi Lil Smokies.
Ingredients
2 packages (14 oz each) Lil Smokies – cocktail-size smoked sausages, beef or pork
¾ cup BBQ sauce – go for a thick, dark style for best results
¼ cup brown sugar – adds sweetness and helps caramelize the glaze
¼ cup pepperoncini juice – tangy brine cuts through the richness
½ cup sliced pepperoncini peppers – mild heat and briny zing
2 tbsp unsalted butter – adds silky richness
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce – umami and depth
1 tsp garlic powder – savory backbone
½ tsp smoked paprika – enhances the smokiness
Instructions
Slow Cooker Method (Set It and Forget It):
Add lil smokies to the crockpot insert and spread them out.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together:
BBQ sauce
Brown sugar
Pepperoncini juice
Worcestershire
Garlic powder
Smoked paprika
Pour sauce over the sausages and stir to coat.
Top with butter and add sliced pepperoncinis.
Cook on LOW for 2½–3 hours, stirring every 30–40 minutes.
During the last 20 minutes, remove the lid to allow the sauce to reduce and thicken.
💡 Want that ultra-sticky glaze? Let it go lid-off until it clings like candy.
Notes
A thick, dark BBQ sauce is key for that sticky, glossy finish 🔥
Pepperoncini juice adds tangy heat without overpowering the sweetness 🌶️
Stirring occasionally helps the sauce reduce and cling to the sausages perfectly
