Ingredients

For the Base

1 prepared angel food cake (or vanilla cake), cubed
– or –

1 package vanilla wafers or shortbread cookies

For the Cream Layer

8 oz cream cheese, softened

½ cup powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1½ cups whipped topping (Cool Whip)

For the Strawberry Layer

3 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

¼ cup granulated sugar (optional, if berries aren’t sweet)

For Topping

Extra whipped topping

Fresh strawberry slices


Instructions

1. Prep the Strawberries (≈ 5 minutes)

  • Toss sliced strawberries with granulated sugar if using.

  • Let sit for 10 minutes to release juices.


2. Make the Cream Filling (≈ 3 minutes)

  1. Beat cream cheese until smooth.

  2. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract; mix until creamy.

  3. Gently fold in whipped topping until light and fluffy.


3. Assemble the Dream Layers 🍓✨

In a trifle bowl or 9×9-inch dish, layer in this order:

  1. Cake cubes or cookies

  2. Cream mixture

  3. Strawberries + juices

Repeat layers until the dish is full, finishing with a creamy layer on top.


4. Chill & Set (≈ 1–2 hours)

  • Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow layers to meld beautifully.
