Gourmet candy apples with a creamy coating, strawberry crunch topping, and cheesecake whipped cream.

- 4 Honeycrisp or Fuji apples
- 2 cups white candy melts or white chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp vegetable shortening
- 1 tsp cheesecake extract
- 1 cup freeze-dried strawberries
- 12 Golden Oreos
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- ½ cup red candy melts
- 1 tsp vegetable oil
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 3 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Fresh strawberries for topping
- Pink sugar crystals (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the apples by removing the wax.
- Dip each apple in boiling water briefly and dry them thoroughly.
- Chill the apples in the fridge for 15-20 minutes.
- Make the strawberry crunch by crushing freeze-dried strawberries and Golden Oreos with melted butter.
- Melt the white candy melts with shortening and mix in cheesecake extract.
- Dip each apple into the melted candy coating and roll in the strawberry crunch.
- Allow the apples to set before making the drizzle.
- Melt red candy melts with vegetable oil and drizzle over the coated apples.
- Make cheesecake whipped cream by beating cream cheese, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
- Pipe the whipped cheesecake cream on top of each apple and finish with a fresh strawberry.
Notes
For best results, serve the apples chilled and individually wrapped for gifts.
